Have a Colt mk III 22 mag. Like brand new condition. I would like to do some trigger work to it and set it up for my son for a trainer for revolver shooting. The factory DA trigger pull must be 18# - 20 # ? Anybody here ever have any experience with this model and what what if any work was done to the revolver?

Thanks...

I have a Colt Trooper .22 mag with a four inch barrel and a 20 pound double action also. It is fine single action. I agree, a reworked trigger would be in order for mine also. Thanks for posting.

Typically, .22LR revolvers need more oomph to reliably set off the priming compound than centerfire calibers do.

Counter-intuitive, but there it is.

I suspect that between it being a Colt Trooper, and a rimfire, you are not going to be all that happy with the marginal results. You might find that your best efforts bring it down from 18+ pounds to 14+ pounds.
