Aquired an interesting Fitz Special. I don't believe it's an authentic Fitz Special, but appears to be a close copy. There is no "vp" marking.
Only a letter from Colt will verify.
The revolver is a Colt Army Special, manufatured in 1922. Caliber .38 spec. Barrel has been cut to 2.5", frame/grips may possibly have also been cut down.

As anyone here will know...I have got to be one of the biggest "Fitz-Fans" out here....all I have to say is SAWEET!!! I would hope you might get a letter from Colt on this one...even if it's not an authentic Fitz..it might still have an interesting story to tell. You might call Customer service at Colt (try and speak with Kathy Grega...she's fantastic), many times they can give you some basic info on a firearm and give you an idea of whether or not it is worth spending the money for a factory letter before you put down a chunk of money for one. Best regards--John

Very nice piece.

I missed this on Gunbroker this week because I forgot about it:

While not really a Fitz, it was Fitz enough for me.
