I didn't want to have to fabricate a new front sight so I carved the old one out of the chunk of barrel I cut off the end. Yet to be done, reproduce the factory-style crown.

Just noticed the primer cup under the strain screw. Old trick. Works good for a too short strain screw.

That gap in the rear of the frame, for the rims, indicates it to be a 25-2, in .45 ACP.

Somebody is going to get a really nice carry gun, in a manly chambering.

I love the front sight install. I've got a 3" round-butt 25-2 I built decades ago that needs a sight install like that. Gotta get to work in on idea thievery....

I have a 25-2 that I round-butted for a customer many years ago and later acquired from him in payment for some other work. This reminded me that I need to get it out of the safe for a little trigger time.

I'd have called it a 25-2. It says 1955 on the other side of the barrel, well, it used to....

And, re-crowned, cold-blued. Also shown, the chunk of barrel cut off and from which the front sight was whittled out
