Ok gang....

Let's make this one BIG.

Image

http://www.louderthanwords.us/raffle3.shtml

LTW would like to announce that the next raffle is on.

The #2 pistol and accessories AND the Ted Nugent Signature Rifle are up for grabs. This raffle will be a little different than the last one. This time there will be TWO winners. We will draw winners during the 2006 SHOT show. Winner #1 will get to choose either the pistol package, or the rifle. Winner #2 will get the "left overs"

More information about the pistol and accessories can be found here

The rifle (one of two matching rifles, built to Ted Nugent's specifications), was recently discussed in this topic.

Again, 100% of the proceeds benefit Ted Nugent Kamp For Kids.

Help us make this a raging success!

I'm having trouble finding the page at the Kamp site that would allow me to purchase tickets? Anyone else having "issues?"

Patience...

It will appear on their website as soon as their web guys gets it done. Regardless, you can mail a check :) That's much better than paypal. Paypal charges a percentage for handling the transaction, so if you can mail a check, it's much preferred.

If I win that rifle I think I'm going to try and find a cheetah print cheek pad for it. Kinda continue on with the Africana motif. What do you think?

Members,

Just got my copy of the new American Handgunner which included a very nice article on the website and the LTW#2 auction. Great photos, great supporting story, and information on the website. Both should go a long way towards increasing the sucess of this worthwhile cause. The guns shown were awesome and reflect the dedication and craftsmanship of the sponors of this event!

I also noted an article in the Sunday paper editorial section by the noted environmentalist, Whit Gibbons, who writes for the dreaded New York Times syndicated papers, who stated that we hunters and shooters contributed the vast majority of the money contributed to preserving habitat through the excise tax. We contibuted $700 million! This was an increase of 3% over the last published year despite the fact that the hunting population has declined to only 5% in 2004 from a high of 11% in 1960. He said "...I'm sorry to see the steady decline in the number of hunters because it means fewer high paying participants are working to keep America wild."

What better charity is available to us than to reach back a generation and help to introduce hunting as the lifelong ejoyable sport?

I will be writing to Whitt at ecoviews@rel.edu informing him of the efforts of this site and the Kamp for Kids program. Hopefully, he will include this effort in a future article. Who knows just maybe...

Good job LTW and Ted Nugent!

Is there anywhere to purchase the tickets online?

Unfortunately, no. Paypal shut us down, and until/unless we find another solution, mailing a check or money order is the only way right now.

Dear members,

Those dirty PayPal !#$%&&%@@$!!! oughta be whipped. They still sell a ton of gun parts on e-bay and they let them go thru.
This is a raffle not a gun and for a good cause too.

When did they throw us off? Can't this be done with a miscellaneous money request?

Paypal is strictly anti-gun with no exceptions. My shop(a pawn shop) sent a gun to a law enforcement officer and let him pay through Paypal because he needed it ASAP. Somehow they got wind of it and froze our account for 180 days and terminated it after that.
99% of what we sell online has nothing to do with firearms. They also informed us their bylaws state "no pawn shops"either.
We are in the process of contacting the NRA, National Pawnbrokers Association and the Attorney Generals Office.

Just wondering....Did eBay buy PayPal, or did they have a sort-of merger or something in the past year?
Several months ago, it seemed that eBay started pushing PayPal more. They provided direct links to your PayPal account, etc.

It seemed like that was when PayPal started tightening the screws on everybody else who was selling gun-related items.
In other words- Trying to drive business toward eBay....Or away from gun stuff period.

On happier notes-
I got my American Handgunner yesterday.
Nice article by Jason Burton in there on the #2 Raffle (page 50). Much longer than last time, which I thought was a little skimpy, but nice to see anyway.
A more detailed article this time, and lots of pictures (pistol, rifle, leather, and knife).
Good job Jason and AH!

Also- I see the "Gun of the Month" giveaway package is a Y-B Springfield 1911, Garrity holster and light/mag pouch, and Benchmade knife (page 76-77).
I don't usually enter their contests, but my entry went in the mailbox this morning!

Yes, ebay bought PayPal. PayPal has been on a downward slide, IMHO, ever since.

It IS raffle #3. This is the THIRD raffle we have had for TNKFK.

This third raffle is for the LTW #2 pistol and a rifle spec'd out by Ted Nugent.

If there is anyone out there who is going to SHOT and intends to buy tickets between now and then, and has the time/ten bucks/inclination to help--

My Peruvian holster guy, Alex Nossar, asked me to get him a ticket so he'd have a chance at this. I informed him that as an LTW board member I can't buy a ticket and have to be very careful about even arranging it for him. If there's anyone that is about to buy some tickets anyway and could handle this for him, and directly with him at SHOT (with no further involvement from me other than to put you together for the transaction), that'd be great.

Thanks a bunch-

Ned

Ned,

Just tell me how many he wants. I will send the check on Monday and give him the tickets personally at the show before the drawing. How does that sound?

Al
