We felt it important to let the membership know what we have planned for 2006. First from all of us at LTW 2005 was a huge success because of you. We organize and build the guns but the members and customers are the ones who make this work. 2005 was a huge success, 2006 is only going to be better.

After alot of consideration we have decided that we will concentrate our efforts on one charity this year. This will be Isabella de Bethencourt Memorial Cops for Kids Jimmy Fund/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. We have teamed up with these folks in order to raise money for children who have been tragically diagnosed with various forms of cancer. When LTW started the entire mission was to support those less fortunate than ourselves....specifically children.

For further details please follow this link.
http://www.posacops4kids.com

After several talks with David Kenik the President of Cops for Kids the fit between them and LTW was a natural. There will be a number of sponsorship programs in this endeavor and alot of cooperation from the law enforcement and shooting community.

The gun! All of the LTW smiths will contribute to this build in one form or another. This LTW Signature gun will be on a new roll mark stainless Series 80 Colt pistol. Not to give away all the details but a full custom folding knife by the knifemakers at http://www.customknivesandguns.com will accompany the gun. This will be the most comprehensive package we have done.

Additional items are being created and planned for subsequent winners. The proceeds of this raffle will go directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to help these children.

There will be two LTW Team guns this year. The teams have been decided on but I will let the pictures do the talking on those. Two other "special projects" are going to happen this year but again, I won't spoil the surprise. Either way we have alot ahead of us and this will pretty much tap our project efforts this year.

Again, from all of us..........Cheers to a new year and THANK YOU, for all the support.

Steve

Wow! SHOT isn't even a memory and these guys have already got their charity work organized and in gear! LTW's true purpose never rests! Its a pity this kind of character and integrity isn't more prevalent in our society today.

God Bless LTW!

I had a few free minutes at work, and checked out the "Cops for Kids" website. The LTW crew deserves a huge ovation in selecting a great cause for 2006. Not only do the pistolsmiths and leather crafters turn out some of the most awe-inspiring weapons and holsters, but the atmosphere of selfless giving is truly inspirational. I've said it before, but I am humbled to be in such great company.

Way to go, guys. I look forward to cracking my wallet open for this one

What a magnificent venture! My undying admiration to all. Just to be a small part of this grand scheme is truly rewarding.
Thanks from all of us.

Great choice...please let me know when and where the donations are to be made. Not something I want to miss out on.

Very cool Steve and LTW crew! I can't wait to see this one! Consider me IN!

What makers are involved in the folder(s)?

Fortunate for LTW Neil Blackwood and Jim Burke have graciously decided to build a collaboration folding knive for this project.

Both are the best in the business and only your imagination can come up with what they will do. The gun and the knife will compliment one another perfectly.

Thanks to everyone for the support!

Once again LTW and now Custom knives are planning a great year of giving back to worthy causes.

I once again want to thank all my friends for doing what they do and doing it the best.

I know where my next $50 is going to go in the future. This is a great prize for a wonderful cause. I will try and spread the word also.

Quick question. I hit the http://www.posacops4kids.com site and noticed it said the raffle was not valid for residents of Washington. Is that Washington state or Washington DC? Really bummed if the former!

Thanks,

Chris

Chris, I think it is WA state. Something we could not get around.

Steve,

Is the Washington State thing going to be an ongoing issue, or was it just for this particular raffle?

If ongoing - is this something we need to contact our State Reps about?

Thanks,

John
