IT'S UP, IT'S UP, IT'S UP

http://www.pistolraffle.com/

What great way to start the week, you can now buy tickets for LTW #4. The ticket sales site is not yet perfected, but it's up. Right now tickets are shown as being $25..... that's a mistake, they are $10 as always. Since I, um, can't buy tickets myself, I need somebody to get over there and do it, and let us know that you can buy in increments of $10. PayPal is the one and only way to do it at the moment-- we are working on a send-in-your-check system.

As I say, not yet perfected but I know people are anxious, so let's get started! First guy to buy tickets gets one free (not sure how to do that but between now and SHOT I'll figure it out!). Be advised, when I click "submit" here, I'll give LTWists a 1-hour head start and then I'm on every other forum I can think of!

Ned - I was unable to purchase anything other than single tickets at $25 apiece from that site, so I just bought two at $25, figuring I'll get constructive credit for five at $10 apiece. :D

No worries, all for a great cause.

Ned, I just had a look, and it appears that the tickets are $25. I didn't click the "pay now" button, but up to that point it says $25. I also didn't see any way to change the quantity. Or do we need to submit a new order for each ticket we wish to buy? Thanks for getting it set up!

Ned,

Tickets are stiil priced at $25 on that website. Another thing that caught my attention was a stated raffle end date of 09/07/07. I assume you'd wanna continue all the way till the Shot.

Great to see this one is getting started. Any idea when they are going to put it up on the Sniper's site and some of the other shooting web sites?

Buck, we'll figure something out.

Maybe I should have waited another day to announce but.... it's been such a long time coming.

Ned,

It's all good, my friend. Thanks to you and all the others involved in this project for getting the ball rolling.

Little stuff gets a certain amount of our attention and time, but in the end remember: it's still little stuff. :D

FYI, there will soon be a mail-in option for purchasing tickets.

And AS.org has sold some tickets in Afghanistan already!

Ned

I've been to the AS.org site several times and I can't find anything there that references the project or the raffle? Am I missing something, or have they not yet posted it on their site?

JeffVN,

Follow the link in Ned's signature, not the normal AS.org website, and it will take you directly to the raffle page. There is a box at the top of the page that will take you to the "Buy Raffle Tickets" section ....

I've got mine ... :D

Jeff, they probably don't have it on their site yet-- this whole process took a little longer than expected and I suppose that if they are like me with my site, changes are not instantaneous.

They're at 10 bucks now. It would only let me buy one at a time, though, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Ned

Thanks. Not a problem, I'm going to post a link to the Raffle on some of the other tactical sites that I frequent. Its just easier to say the raffle is for real with the destination charity also has something posted on its site.

Ned

On a side note, I talked to Brian - truly a quality guy - they gladly accepted the Rifle Stock and Bottom metal and are building it out with someone who was a USMC Armourer. They will raffle it off sometime down the road.

Excellent! I figured they'd be a good place to make the most of that particular item.

I agree about them needing something up on their site ASAP, have mentioned it to Brian.

Hey folks,

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for waiting. I apoligize for the wait, I ran into some personal issues that prevented me from being as active in getting this going as I had planned.

I got word for the guys that take care of the money part of AS.org and they said that pay pal was going nuts. Very cool, keep it going guys.

JeffVN,

I received the stock and bottom metal. Build is in the planning stages. Thanks. The raffle is also listed in the forums on the AS.org site.

Thanks,

Ken

Ken - I'm glad to see you are up and about.

Take your time with the stock build, my brother and I are just glad you guys could put it to good use. I suspect that is a raffle that will go nuts for you guys too.

Two things.

1. I have unintentionally dissed my good friend and LTW supporter John VanZyck of VZ grips. He has been working dilligently on grips for this project and has sent me several sets to choose from. I suggested some that would match Chuck's Golfballing treatment and John delivered.
http://www.vzgrips.com

2. As to pics, I am always a little hesitant to show pids of work in progress, but this is a little different..... I'll get some up but not right away and they might be a little on the macro side just to save the real "unveiling" for a better photog than me.

CorBon has just stepped in for more ammo. Thanks go out to Mike Shovel, National Sales Manager for CorBon.

CorBon DPX pistol ammo sure is enjoying good reports from all points. I'v seen some impressive results with the .223 also, in gel testing.

I am getting going on my part of this project. Had the plunger tube TIG'd in place yesterday and will be installing the YoBo sights in the next few days, have the Wilson Combat grip safety just about done.

And here's a little pic of said binocs:

Thanks all.

A lot of the support stuff is coming in-- and some of it, I'm asking the industry contributors to just hang onto it for me until SHOT.

Thanks once again to Springfield and Wilson Combat, both of whom helped out with a few more spares and details I had forgotten. Gun's gonna have two of just about everything a guy might lose or break.

I just got a few more things to add to the package here. These are good. First let me say: a big part of me has wished all along that we could say, "must be an NRA member to be eligible to win". We probably can't say that and maybe shouldn't; but still, I think a lot of people would agree that anyone who owns a gun of any kind, and really, anyone who believes in personal freedom, should belong. The NRA may not be perfect in every way but it is our biggest and best bet in Washington; who knows where we might be today in terms of being able to own guns without he NRA, but I'll tell you this, it would not be a pretty picture. I question if LTW could exist without the good work the NRA has done over the decades on behalf of ALL Americans, not just gun owners.

So here's the deal: the winner of the package gets a free NRA membership. In the likely event that winner is already a member, the membership can be transferred to anyone he or she designates. Thank you, NRA, for supporting this LTW raffle, and thank you for doing what must be a difficult and sometimes thankless job!

http://www.nra.org/

I have just discovered "NRA News" on their site, it's like NRA talk radio. Very informative, I play it in the background as I do the 'net, to keep up to date on the many attempts from many quarters to restrict and prevent law-abiding citizens from owning firearms. Not to rant here, but they aren't just looking for black rifles and hi-capacity this or that. They have every intention of taking it all.

Bonus on top of bonus on top of bonus: USPSA has also said they want to support LTW with a membership to winner of 4TC1s (LTW#4). It looks like IDPA is also going to play! Both outfits do a lot in terms of presenting firearms ownership in a positive light and in promoting youth participation in competition.

So, the latest complete list of industry support for 4TC1s:

The number of companies, organizations, and individuals getting behind LTW 4 is staggering. I can't help but to think that Ned is playing a large role in this, and he is owed a huge thanks. The best way I can do that is buy as many tickets as I can to make this a HUGE success for the raffle's beneficiaries.
