Hello
I was at a local gun show this weekend and although it is a rather
small show, it has produced some
very nice revolvers, long guns and accessories in the past for me. Saturday was chocked full of people, so I waited to see what my Gun show buddies had taken in on Sunday. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon when I stopped by to see the guy that recently sold me a nice model
38-44 Outdoorsman, and he had taken in a model
27-2 revolver. It had the
8-3/8" Barrel and was blued. He had it marked at
$600.00, but the revolver is not what Interested me, it was The vintage
Walter Roper grips it was wearing that did. I asked to see this revolver, and while I was holding it, The vendor asked me
if I could use it ? I replied I all ready have a nice model 27-2 at home, but what I could really use is
the grips on it. He said that without the Original grip's on it, That he felt it would
Hinder the sale as People wanted Guns original. It occured to me that he had
No Earthly Idea that the grips he had were Original Roper's, so I asked if he wanted to swap them for a set of Original Factory target grips ?
He dove at my offer and Pulled these grips off his revolver. I Gladly swapped with him, and now have them on my model 25-2 revolver as shown. Regards, Kurt
