Here is a Thompson sub-machinegun, serial #4385 that once belonged to the infamous Purple Gang of Detroit.
This Thompson was "fished" out of the Detroit River many years ago. It is bolted in the case, but on the other side of the Thompson is scratched in "P.G." (Purple Gang). I am told the Purple Gang did this to many of their firearms.
