What do you guys think?
Is it worth putting some type of dot
on the front sight of a shotgun or just run
it black with a ghost ring rear?

Well, for me, I just have plain black sights. Much of the reason is I also have a Surefire 623 forend on the Remmie 870 (and a Surefire 618 on my Mossberg 590A1) so if its dark enough to need tritium, I'm going to be lighting up my target with the Surefire forend.

I just received an 870 totally redone by Tim at YB. Great job Tim! I need to get out to put some shells through it... Tim put a fiber optic front sight on it and it looks great through the ghost ring rear.

Personally, I like fiber optic (eyes are getting old) or a red dot sight such as Aimpoints H-1

I use a tritium front and ghost ring rear on my 870.
