If you were to set up a Scout/Practical rile in .308
which action would you rather use?

Dakota, Kimber 84, Win. 70. In that order of preference.

i think a dakota would be an excellent choice. now if you were going with a winchester, you may as well buy a newer "classic" action- same features as the "pre-64", a lot less money.

I already have a pre 64 Winchester Model 70.

I am just trying to figure out an excuse to go with the Dakota I think...

I am not scared by the 2G price for the action alone but just wondering what makes it worth that much more than others.

The price paid for the action is relative. One thing's for sure - if you cut any corners on the rifle you build with it, you'll always regret it.

As I say to the boys in the shop... "Ask me how I know that"

haha thanks Ted.
You are VERY good at helping me spend my money :D

Guys Mr. Yost  is a very evil man hahaahaha

I can just see it now...
Why did you buy the Dakota action???

Mr. Theodore Yost made me do it!

Now I know who that evil voice in my head reminds me of.

If you're willing to go with a Dakota, why not step up to a Granite Mountain Arms, Satterlee, or Waffenfabrik-Hein? If you placed one of these actions in the hands of a highly talented 'smith, the resulting rifle would be like "buttah".

You ready for the build?
