Looking at an older M1 Super 90 Tactical. I've never owned a pistol grip shottie and all my hunting guns are obviously standard grip/butt. Should I just stick with that configuration as it seems like it would be more "natural"?

Also, is there any downside or upside to either ghost vs rifle? Thanks.

I have both stocks and like both but, you have to go with the ghost rings. :)

Ghost Rings work great for slugs at longer ranges but they suck on the Trap Range :D

hoser,
My Remmy 870entry has straight stock and my patrol M3S90 has a pistol grip. For the general use M3 the PG has both up and down sides. For outside/large area suspect covering its great. Get into smaller areas and I'll bring the 870 because I find the PG just encumbers maneuvering. Both have rifle sights, easier for me to pick up at short to medium distances.

If you are planning to shorten the stock, you may run into an issue of a standard stock having your thumb bang into your face.

On shortened stocks, I believe that a pistol grip will allow your hand to out of the way, IMO.

Inside the home or shorter than 20 yards: just a plain bead.
Longer than 20 yards and using slugs: Ghost ring sights.

The ghost ring sights are the way to go. I have had an M1 super 90 with pistol grip and GR sights for nearly 20 years and it is still a to to gun!
