Hey all,

One of my favorite models is the CCO. I have always wanted one, especially a lightweight model. Until recently they were hard to find as no one made them. Now Dan Wesson makes one, Colt makes one, Sig makes one, Fusion, and probably others. Good to see all these 1911 makers with all the varieties.

Anyway, I'd like to know how many of you like the CCO and/or carry one. If you do own one, which one do you own? And of course, please post any pics you have of CCO's. I'd love to see them.

Thanks

Nalajr

I have one that I built before Colt started offering their current model. What I really want, though, is a lightweight CCO in .38 Super, or even 9mm.

I like the CCO a lot. It just looks and feels "right".

9x23 in a lightweight is on my personal build list...built one for a customer last year, had a hell of a time parting with it.

I own two in 45ACP and really like them. The first is a Colt Gunsite CCO lightweight and I will post pictures shortly. The second is the Dan Wesson CCO and it is very well made. I spoke to a Dan Wesson gunsmith where they are made in NY and he said they use mostly all machined parts, with a good mix of EGW. I put about 300 rounds through it so far with half being my carry round (ASYM) and the function was flawless and very accurate.

Will post pics of both shortly.

I ccw Tim's titanium version (from American Handgunner Mar/April 2006):

I dunno when his Chopper was offered the first time, but I've had this titanium CCO since ~June 2007 I think, so I wouldn't have said 'no one' made them. It's ruined me for all other 1911's... extremely accurate, completely dependable, and it was 'cheap', too--I've not purchased another 11 since, and I'll finally sell off the rest of my 1911 collection and recoup prolly > $25G's in other "semi-custom" and custom 45 autos. Yep, I like Tim's work.:)

He's offering his aluminum "Chopper" version again, just in case anyone's interested:
