I really enjoy calling in coyotes, and in preparation for this season, I worked up some new loads for my 223. Unlike everything else here on LTW, this rifle is quite generic.
It is a box stock Savage, Model 10PC, with the only upgrade being the stock. The Accustock wasn't, and I hooked up with Gregg at HS Precision during SHOT and picked up this Prototype Stock. The POI shifting during group shooting totally disappeared (I was getting 2 distinct groups prior - 2 in one hole, 3 in another), and it turned this cheapy rifle into a real tack driver. The pic below shows a typical 5 Shot group from this rifle, using 60 grn Sierra HP Varminters (measures out @ about 0.19"). I shot a 3 shot group using Barnes 62 grn TSX that was one hole, barely larger than a single bullet hole. Working up loads for this combo was also a pleasant surprise, as these groups have all been shot using Surplus WC844 and off the shelf CCI Magnum SRP's.
Now it is time to put some fur down!
