A transition Colt Commander Series 70. New old stock Novak rear sight with a new Novak front sight. The frame was high cut and serrated. A new Kart barrel was fit and mated to an EGW thick bushing. The internals are E2 qith the hammer customized. The grip safety is a Derr Precision short lenght for better concealment. The trigger is a long Greider and the thumb safety is a Wilson. The finish is deep blue brushed flats with matte rounds. The hammer and barrel are hard chromed. The grips are Harrison Design custome colored with Cerakote.

I grew up with the colt commander and this brings back lots of memories. Well done.

.
Mr. Derr,

I echo everyone else's comments about your work.
But what grabbed my attention, man!, in your first picture... did you sneak into my house and borrow my knife to use in your photography shoot?!?!

I probably shouldn't be using up bandwidth with this but I was just shocked when I saw it - "There's my knife!"
I didn't try to create art or compose a good picture, but I couldn't help throwing a few things down and taking a quick one.
Just having fun.
Think of it as "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" or something.

Anyway, I like your work and you are so good to post up pictures of all your stuff.

Thanks.

James

P.S. This is my father's Colt Commando. I didn't know he had it until I came across it cleaning out his house after he died. So, don't know the story. He probably "liberated" it when he out processed at the end of the war.

(note to Jim: knife needs some love!)

It looks like Jim Hoag's grip safety from way back in the day.

I would be proud to call that my own.
