Not to be outshined by the tremendous enthusiasm greeting #4, Steve Bailey has taken the wheel on Number Five, and as the plan comes together it looks like this one will be a winner!

The base gun is a vintage COLT Lightweight Commander. The overall package will be completed with the addition of a fine custom knife and a set of leather done in fine style by one of our resident leathersmiths. To date, the crew assignments are C.T. Brian, John Harrison, Steve Bailey, Jason Burton, and myself. We'll keep you posted as things develop.

This package will benefit the Cops 4 Kids group again. We plan to hit the marketplace a little sooner this year and increase the amount raised!

You guys are doing amazing things with these fundraisers. Not only does it give us enthusiasts a chance to own rare peices, but we get to give to worthy causes as well. I never feel like a loser when my number isn't called when my money is going to help those in need.

It was good to see the booth at SHOT. I got to meet and talk to Steve, and he is a great guy on and off the forums.

Thanks again for all you guys do. I am a firm believer in giving back to the community and karma. Last year, I gave a homeless gentleman some money and food for helping me with my truck. I was running low on funds and Christmas was close, but he was in need. Later that day, I got the bill for my truck and it was higher than I thought. A parent of an athlete I coach told me not to worry about it and picked up the bill!!! I hope your business increases 10 fold from the good you guys do for others.

4 and 5 at the same time! You're going all out!
I don't have a Lwt Cmdr, but it's not for lack of interest. I like this one already.

This one's gonna be sweet. Somebody's going to win a very nice carry setup!

Not sure just what all John Harrison, Jason Burton, Steve Bailey & Ted Yost have planned for their respective 'do lists' on this piece, but speaking for myself, I've got some pretty kewl stuff planned for the upper.....

Once again, to a great cause.

This year is going to be unreal. Both ends of the 1911 spectrum will be met with our level best.

The Cops 4 Kids package will have a gentlemen's carry knife done by custom knifemaker Jim Burke. We are attempting to finalize leather plans with Lou Alessi. This will more than likely consist of holster and mag pouch with some very high end accessories as long as Lou's time permits.

I am so fired up about this year...it should be phenomenol.

Steve, give Trace a call. I think he'd be on board to do a small blade to go with the package.

Gentlemen,
Now that you have teased us with pictures of a completed #5, when will we be able to buy raffle tickets. Thanks, not only are these raffles a great idea, they're fun.

I know it's hard, but please be patient....The charity has to set these things in motion, and it takes a little time. We'll let everyone know as soon as we know.

Mr. Yost, It's not hard to be patient, it's dang near impossible. If you could suggest that they set up through PayPal, it would probably garner an even greater response.

Due to eBay's and conversely, PayPal's new, even more stringent anti gun policies, I rescind my suggestion. I will gladly go to a little more trouble to mail in my payment for tickets for such a great cause.

I'm just thinking out loud here a bit, so don't throw too much abuse my way.

Since this project is not going to have much time to sell tickets before SHOT 2008, is it better to hold this one off to next year in order to give people a chance to buy tickets and benefit the intended benificiaries.

Very nice work and I have been thinking I need to add a Commander to my stable.

I wonder what the taxes will be for the winner of this $10,000 pistol/knife/holster prize. It would be just my luck to win on a ten dollar ticket and then owe Uncle Sam three grand.

Mr. Yost - I have known for years that you are a gifted pistolsmith, but I have seen some of your stocks posted lately and man are they nice. You seem to be as gifted working in wood as you are in steel.

Two in 2008! I think I'm going to need a bigger safe. Make that 6k to the Feds.

BTW, very user friendly site for LTW 5.
