Can anyone point me in the right direction? Looked at gunbroker and others, but apparently the few that are on there are made of some form of gold or platinum, based on the price they are asking.

Thanks,

John

I just picked up a 26 inch remington express today at Sportsman Warehouse in Anchorage for $349. A lot of gun for the price I thought.

John,

CDNN out of Texas does a lot of trade ins. I bought a clean 870 Police Magnum with an 18" brl, extended magazine, and rifle sights a while back for a really good price.

Give them a call. They seem to be nice folks to do business with.

Rob

John:

Not to rub it in, but I just scarfed one up on another forum (18" 870 Police, with factory extended mag, synthetic stock, rifle sights, used but nice condition) for $350 shipped !

Sometimes, I just get lucky.

John-

Keep your eyes/ ears open for PD trade ins. I know a pile of local guys grabed up 870 Police Magnums last year for $125.00 a piece. I got a couple. All trade ins from Wyo HP when they transitioned over to ARs, and I missed out....the M1As were $650.00  I did get a .308win, Rem 700 with Leupold 3.5-10, $600.00 near as I can tell never even sighted in! The 870s are all gone now to friends, family, etc.. or I'd hook you up. See if you can figure out who your local/ state LE uses for purchases... and become friends! I'll ask around here, see if anyone has an extra they'll part with.

PS don't overlook the Mossy 500 or 590..good gun usually CHEAP!

Hey John,

Make sure you get the Police Model. Van Comp has them usually in stock. Personally, I like the Benelli M4. That shotgun rocks but is expensive.

I find myself in the position of asking the question once asked by John Ralston; asking where a Rem 870P may be found that does not entail DelFattian wait times or require a socializing government bailout to make the purchase?
Anyone with information as to whom may have such a beast, and approximate number of one's children to be surrendered,
please come forth and speak.

Thanks,

Ari Ariel

Hi John and Ari,

Here is the info on the limited edition Remington 870 Police Magnum with the blue finish and walnut stock #24899. I picked one up from Vang Comp at a very good price (less than $500) since they bought more than they could use.

The information below was taken from the shotgun forum:

My preference in pump shotguns is for blued steel and walnut furniture. And when it comes to Remington, for a defense shotgun, I like this finish and materials combined with the "Police" feature set.

I recently set out to find such a Remington and learned that the model number is 24899.

This model was offered with a special run late last year and
quickly sold out. I recently contacted over a dozen Remington LE
distributors and learned that none of them had the gun anymore,
but two of the distributors went the extra mile and did inquiries
for me to learn that there WILL BE A SPECIAL PRODUCTION RUN
of this gun in June-July 2010! Great news for me to hear.

I know there are others who share my appreciation for the blued
870 Police with walnut furniture... so for those of you who are
interested in acquiring one of these, I offer the contact info for the
two distributors who went the extra mile for me in getting this
information. You can pre-order with a deposit through either of
them:

Please tell them Don H. referred you.

Yowza! I seriously thank you for the intel, and I have e-mailed Linda, the young lady at Lou's Police, for how much deposit she requires.
Being old and lazy I hate driving into Hialeah, but for this 870P, I might just make a day of it and have some lunch at one of the many fine spots in Hialeah.

Approximately two minutes ago, I spoke with Linda of Lou's Police Supply (in Hialeah, Florida), and gave her my pre-order for an Rem 870P
Magnum. The order number #24899 is correct for this "special run" model, and does include the 12 guage 18inch blue bbl, walnut furniture, rear peep sight, fore and aft sling swivels; however, NOT the two shot factory magazine extension.
I can survive that loss, having one retrofitted later if I deem it necessary.
Deposit is $200. The lovely young lady suggested that she would most likely order an additional dozen items, to handle any additional requests.
Fast. Friendly. Competent. :D
Our government should be so good!

About an hour ago, I visited Lou's Police Supply in Hialeah (Florida) and picked up the sought
after Rem 870P Magnum as described in the first part of this Subject's Message body.
Fast, comfortable, with knowledgable service assistance, at a good price.
They also have a drool worthy previously owned department that called to me: "Ari, Ari. It's me. Help. Take me away from here".
See the Wheel gun section for the thrilling details. 8)
