Hello, Jesse, and welcome. I have a like-new 4" Model 28 4-screw revolver that continues to be a favorite handgun. Shoot that thing; you will like it.

Best.

Nice revo, Jess -

Tell ya what..... I'll do the checkering, you do the polishing, I'll do the blueing.

The only S&W I like better than a 28 is a 27

Have mercy in showing us poor mortals such things!

Best.

Gorgeous M28 :) I have a few and just picked up a M28-2 with a 4", they are some of the sweetest shooting Smiths. You should really enjoy shooting that :D

I really do rank the Model 27 and Model 28 at the top of my list of favorite revolvers. HOWEVER, I have two of them of which I am particularly fond. About 25 years ago, I had a Model 27 and a Model 28 converted to .44 Special, both with 4-inch barrels. One is blued and the other is the old "Metaloy" finish. They shoot and handle great. The conversions were not cheap (by the standards of those days), but that was before S & W brought back the Model 24 and the Model 624, so if I wanted a .44 Special S & W (and I did), I had no real choices. THEY are my favorite revolvers.
Being an old fogey, my other favorite revolvers are the OLD Colt Troopers (I mean the OLD ones). I have several, they still can be had CHEAP, and have actions (in MY OPINION) that are better than the Pythons. But then I am an old geezer............
Best to all,
Jeffro
