Great looking grips on that Centennial. Didn't know that Hogue made that grip for a J Frame. It's a custom now to you. If you keep it more things will happen to it, as you modify it to meet your needs.

I had a set of Eagle grips on an SP 101 that I had to take wood putty to fill in the gaps so the grips would fit the gun. Inleting was terrible and the finish on the rosewood was poor. Very porous. Never bought another set of Eagles even though some of his designs intrigue me.

I wish Hogue made a set of wood bootgrips for the SP!

130.00 for BTS J frame Spegels!!!!!!!!!!!
Boy SOMEBODY'S getting a mark up!
Try Craig out in Oregan at 503-368-5653. Better fit and finish than the Eagles or Hogues. His, the original Boot Grip, has a MUCH better feel than the others and the craftmanship is first class.

Carry guns deserve great grips....Spegels are great! Don Williams just sold me a set of N-Frame
full-sized grips (as opposed to the boot grips Craig usually has...), in presentation-grade coco-
bolo and they flat out rule! Don't skimp on your grips unless you are prone to banging into
stuff. I've had elephant ivory on all my carry guns, and they were $250, money well spent on grips that fit like a glove.

M. Hall,

When I looked on Don's grip site today (pickagrip.com) there were NO Spegals of any type listed. Is the site not updated or what?

Wayne

Hi Wayne! Actually, his site is pretty well updated, but Spegels go very fast.

Lightning Arms may have some Spegal grips as well as leather - lovely pictures on their site including some checkered closeups but of course it is all call for availability.

Hi all--

If you haven't heard Cocobolo is becoming harder and harder to find especially in the BTS and better grades. 1911 Exhibition grips we were selling at $125 last year are now in the $200+ range.

Regards,

Craig

Hi Craig,

Welcome aboard and thanks for my grips.

I just got a beautiful pair of Spegels in BTS+ Cocobolo from him for my newest acquisition of a 3" Model 19 PC gun.

Best,

Ray
