I was wondering what models were done in 9mm. One of my friends used to have one and I thought it would be kind of cool. Does anyone know what the model numbers would be and where would be a good place to look to buy one. I know they have not been made in some years but I think they would be fun to shoot. My friends was a blued 6 shot with fixed sights in 9mm and it had a 3 inch barrel if my memory serves me right. Thanks in advance.

I am not an expert, but I think the hammeress version was a 940, and the 6 shot with a 3inch barrel was a 547. I have been looking for the 547 for a while.

There was a 940 for sale on ths forum, and I think there is one currently on Calguns.net.

Also you might look at:

Not my gun, and more than I want to pay.

Also Ruger made a SP101 in 9mm that used moon clips.

Lastly, there is a French Revolver that takes multiple cylinders (9mm and 38), but I have no idea if they ever made it to the US!

Good luck

Richard

That one on bunbroker.com is the exact one my friend had and the one I want. I did not know that they were so expensive. I didnt know they could get that kind of money for a stock revolver. I think that guy is a little proud of what he has. Are they all that much no a days.

Thanks for the info, it is greatly appreciated.

I have a 547. They were made in 3 and 4 inch variations. 3" was round butt and 4" was square. At least all that I've seen were. Story is that they were made for a French gov't contract and the over runs were sold off here. Not sure of the validity of that story.
The extractor is a complicated little beast. Many parts and no replacements to my knowledge, so it would pay you watch that for wear/problems unless you can hire someone like the Nedster to make replacements for berillium copper!
