I found this K Frame 65-5, that has been converted to DAO by S&W Performance Shop, in a pawn/gun/tool shop. Since it is a 3" barrel, the owner could not get anyone to buy it.....that is until I came along. He wanted $275 I walked out with it at $250. I added these grips to dress it up. The gun is at about 98%, except for the mods to the hammer. Lets see your K Frames. Now dont be shy!!!

Jeez, nobody wanted it !?!

I would have jumped on it. Very nice.

I'll have to get around to taking pictures of my (somewhat rare) 3" M66. It too has been to the Performance Center.

Nice K. Nothing like the feel of a buttery smooth K-frame action I dont think anything else even compares. The 3" K 65 or 66 round butt is also my favorite cool point bad a#% revolver and yours is very nice.

Nice 64-5. I have one of those. What kind of grips are those?

I don't have any 3" K-frames at the moment, but here is a 4" 66 that Dave Berryhill spruced up for me. It is kind of an oddity because while it has a frame-mounted firing pin, it has no MIM parts. It was a rental gun from an indoor range that was a smidge out of time. I sent it to Dave and he fixed the timing, gave the cylinder a "black powder bevel" like a Mountain Gun, and then gave it a fine bead blast.

Very nice looking carry gun. The grips appear to be Hogues. The bead blast finish is a huge improvement over the factory stainless. The gun has the appearance of hard chrome.

The grips are Spegal Boot Grips. The gun currently wears Ahrends version of the classic Roper.
