Well Denis Prisbrey and Hamilton Bowen have done it again. Yesterday I picked up the 2007 American Handgunner Tactical Annual and inside was a beautiful picture of a 4" Redhawk in 44mag.....or so I thought. After reading the story it seems that the gun is actually a Super Redhawk Alaskan that has the snout cut back to accept a 4" Redhawk barrel. Wow, what a gorgeous gun and great story by Denis as to how and why it was done. I tried to get a picture to post here but it is not up on the website yet. Even if you dont buy the magazine and are even slightly interested in a 4" Redhawk....pick one up, turn to page 84 and drool.....!!!

tex, I actually saw pics of that gun on Bowen's site a couple of weeks ago. Definitely a sweet looking revolver. From what I understand the people at Bowen are having problems doing it because it messes up the frame if they are not super careful. I just wonder if they could do that with a .454 Alaskan with one of their L-frame style barrels at about 5". Now that would be really sweet!
