Recently got this back from Alex Hamilton of Ten Ring Precision. I bought it with it's barrel already shortened to 2 1/2 inches and the grip size reduced to K/L.
I had Alex bob the hammer, do his action job, smooth the trigger, slight dehorn and refinish.
Here's some crappy pics(I hope)

SAFD...that is beautiful!! Very close to being my dream gun! I can't remember...is the 25-2 a .45 Colt or a .45 ACP? I would absolutely LOVE one like that in the .45 Colt loading!!

This one is a 45acp. Very soft shooting. I need to do something about the rear site, as I don't really need an adjustable one. I'm thinking about either C&S's Extreme Duty one or maybe taking the adjustable one off and seeing if someone can make a sight 'channel' of some kind like on a fixed M10. Has anyone ever seen anything like that?
thanks

good choice, go with a sight channel...the K.I.S.S design on my Thunder Ranch in 45acp works very well. I'm sure there's someone on here who would take on that order.

BTW. What type of grips are those?

The grips are made by D.E. Collins. They are called 'lip grips', like a nicer, cooler Barami hip grip.

It LOOKS LIKE your gun may have originally been "Modified"--the barrel shortened and the frame round-butted--by J.Jovino in New York City...if so, Jovino referred to these guns as "Effectors"...they were quite popular with the "Roundgun Cognoscenti" prior to S&W introducing the short-barreled, round-butt N-frames...FWIW....mikey357
