I'd like to get a action job done to my J frame along with havingthe cylinder edge's beveled. I looked into the package from Cylinder and Slide, but the wait is over a year. Who else doe's a good job at working over the J frame without waiting a year for the work?
Thanks,
Nick

Gemini Customs does action work on J-frames, I don't know what the wait period is for them, but their reputation is first-rate. Link here: http://www.geminicustoms.com/Revolvers% ... rvices.htm

I've got a j-frame that's visiting with Nelson Ford as I type. His schedule is quite reasonable, about 30 days for the work you describe. This will be my first experience with Mr. Ford's work. He came recommended by some folks whose advice I trust on another forum. His website is http://www.thegunsmith.com/

If you want, I can give you an AAR in a few weeks once the pistol gets back.

I've only heard good things about Gemini, but I think they may only offer specific packages on j-frames which includes porting (which just isn't my thing). It might be worth a call to them to verify, however.

I've also read good things about Clark's Custom Gunsmithing, out of LA I think (the state, not the city).

Aubrey....Dave Sams also does a fantastic action job on the J-frames and his wait time is usually 30-45 days. Give him a call and talk to him about it, plus his prioces are hard to beat!! You can check here in the custom revolver thread for my Colt Agent that he did and the action job is like none I have ever tried!! Best of luck--John

Per my last post, I have gotten my j-frame back from Nelson Ford in Arizona. Nothing major done to the pistol, carry action job, bevel the cylinders (so no photos). It looks like he might have polished the trigger face and aligned my CT grips, gratis. He's a good guy to deal with, too.

All in all the work looks good, I'll know more after a trip to the range. For what it's worth, I would use him for similar work again.
