Okay Guys,

Here is a S&W Model 38, LW Bodyguard. It was tricked by Ted several years ago when he was running the shop at Gunsite. He smoothed up all the edges, did an action job, opened up the slot of the hammer for a better sight picture, and recut the front sight. Originally, the gun was done in BlackT.

After years of carry it was looking rough so I sent it to Dave at the Springfield Custom Shop. They did a two-tone finish with the black being Armory Coat and the silver being NP3.

Spegel stocks from C&S finished off the package and it is better than ever.

Take note of the Raven over the cylinder latch.

You can never have enough j-frames.

Enjoy,

Rob

The pistol was bought new in 1982, long before the stupid locks. It is nice when good folks can breathe new life into a tired pistol.

Now, if we could only talk the YB crew into doing revolver work again. Yes, we really would wait a year or more for a gem from your shop Ted!

That's a great little pistol. Your right - you can never have enough J frames.

X

I have talked to Jason and asked if they would consider J-frame work. He said they are so covered up with 1911 and P 35 work that they could not take on any more business. That's a real shame give the quality of work they do. Maybe in the future but don't hold your breath. However, I do have a well worn 642 that is begging for a little custom attention.

Jason, are you ignoring this post. Come on now, you have to answer all your fans and start doing a trick job on j-frames.

Nah... not ignoring it... just letting it build some steam.

Wheel guns are one of those things that Ted and I would like to do again... and in the future we might. Ya' never know, we may once again begin to tinker with Kahrs even... but first things first and those 'bigger guns' have still got our attention. :)

That's one of the most beautiful J-frames I've ever seen. I've been looking around for one myself, and seeing yours would sure make it easy to spend more on customizing one than the cost of the gun itself. Still, there's something way cool about making any gun, even the most basic, your own.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure before I bought a set. Internet pics can be deceiving at times.
