I have a S&W 686+ that I bought about a year ago. I hated the Hogue's that came on it and ordered a set of Target Stocks from Craig Speigel. About four months later they arrived and I was absolutely floored by the beauty of the grips. When held in the hand, they fit together beautifully. When I put them on the gun, they made the gun looked beautiful just as I had envisioned and they feel great in my hand. The only catch is that they don't line up like they do when not on the gun. They are slightly off from eachother. I'm not that good of a photographer, but I've tried to post some pics below. I need to send the gun to get a better trigger job and was wondering if the grips' fit could be adjusted so they fit together better. Don Williams, could you do this?

The gun with new grips:

The gap on the backstrap. One panel sticks up higher than other:

See how the one panel sticks up slightly above the other? I would like them to pair perfectly for a smooth surface if possible:

Craig's work is unbelievable and he was extremely pleasant to deal with. I plan to order more grips from him. I just wish these grips fit my gun a little better and was curious if a smith could fix them when I send it to get the trigger job done. Thanks for your help in advance.[/img]

Hello:
The problem appear's to be that when the hole was drilled for the lower frame pin which hold's the grip's in alignment it was off some. I would contact the Manufacture and have another set sent to me. The only way to correct it would be to increas the size in one grip hole to accomadate where they are off some and that would "RUIN" the grip's as they may tend to slide around even though they are tightly screwed together. Just my opinion. Regards, Kurt.

KevH, Sorry, I'm not a grip maker or fixer-upper  . Craig is always very concerned about his customers satisfaction, and I'd contact him. I'll bet he can fix it, and in fact, he offers a repair service for his grips in the event that they're broken, damaged and etc. I'm sure he'll take care of it.
