I am looking to get a J Frame lightly customized. Any smiths have thoughts on the current models compared to past "prelock" models? I have been looking high and low for a "prelock" 442 or 642 with no luck. Is there any real downsides to the current production models that make hunting an older one worth it? Other than preference is there any real mechanical reason to fret the lock thing?
