I figure this would be the place to ask if anyone has any advice on where to send my smith for a lighter trigger and smoother action?

Mario,

Call Dave Sams at (804) 375-3782. His S&W actions are about as good as they get, and his prices are great.

Dave just did a 642 for me. It's excellent.

I hear Don Williams does really nice work on S&W revolvers. Randy Lee at Apex tactical is the guy that all the IPSC wheel gunners use. I had the chance to play on a 625 that Randy Lee had worked on and it was unreal. If you have never had the chance to try a S&W with a 5 pound pull you have no idea what you are missing.

i have a model 642 that i would like to get done. i talked to jason burton at yost bonitz about it. he told me its impossible to gaurantee an excellent 4lb. pull using the stock m.i.m. parts. and no one makes any drop in replacements like 1911's....

im not talking bad about jason. just wondering if any other smiths make new parts ect......

I have an all steel (stainless) hammerless 640 in 357.

I had the action done by Nelson Ford of The Gunsmith in Phoenix, Arizona.

One of the cleanest smoothest actions I have ever fired.

Guns come and go, but I’ve had this 640 for years now and don’t intend to get rid of it. It’s perfect.

I just got back from Phoenix and got to try one done by Ray Harms, before I gave him one for one of my next retail items.

It was a 640, check out the pictures of the gun on his website.

That is the gun I tried. It says something that a person carries what he has built.

Very, smooth, consistent and that sight set up is very, very, good.
