Hey Guys,

I am due to pickup my new S&W J frame and intendeto make it a nice custom bug by having some work done to it.

Please give me recomendations (and pics if you got them) as to what your perfect J fame would be if you could do anything you wanted.

If you have a gun that has been customized how bout letting me know who did the work and what you had done. I would especially like to see J frames done by Dave Sams.

But please please I beg you - spare me the comments like "My perfect J frame would be a K frame" or other such remarks.

Thanks in advance for all your help

OK, here's mine.
S&W 442, customized by my pocket. Holster made by me, a few years ago.

No, it really isn't a safe queen. It gets carried and shot.

Sorry. I guess I felt there should be something here.

No pic handy, but I had D&D gunsmiths out of Michigan grind down the ramp sight and install an XS big dot on my SW 442. I like a front sight and couldn't pick up the factory one without considerable effort.

Here is an older link to one that I built for myself and still carry.

Rob-

Sorry it took me so long to see this. Dave Sams did a action job, re-timed and installed a ball detent on a 642 for me. I would post pictures, but don't have a suitable camera, and it's still stock looking anyway. His action jobs are excellent. If you have one you're interested in having him work on, take it out to him. He's not that far from you and you'd enjoy meeting him anyway.

Rob Garrett asked me to post the pictures of his J frames with this discription

"I carried the Model 36 for about 15 years as a back-up and off duty gun. The hammer is rounded, a j-frame target trigger has been added, and of course the Tyler T grip.

The Bodyguard was a Gunsite special, tricked by Ted some years back. It was carried a good bit and was looking rough. The Springfield Custom Shop did a black Armory Coating and a nickle teflon coating to make it two tone. Spegels top off the package."

Thanks Rob

NOW I remember where I left my Bodyguard! It has been at Rob's house since the last time I was at Ft. Benning. Silly me.

That thing really is purrty, Rob. I have to get something like that.
