A couple John Gallagher Blackhawks in 44 mag.

The top gun is a BH 44 mag with Johns LW conversion. The grips are some he made up. The second is a simple Flattop 44 50th gun with the 6.5" barrel cut back to 4 5/8 and tapered. A new oversize front was added. Action, beveled cylinder. I had John put lanyard rings on both because I like them.

Nice! Have you shot them?

I have a couple of old Model Super Blackhawks that need to be different! John G is someone I had thought about trying.

PS I think I missed a message from you, is there any interest in the Ruger .32 mag?

If I may ask, what was the approximate cost of the Flattop barrel work, overall price? I love John G's work.

Mike I have not shot them. Waiting on a LW 41 that is in the works. Will decide then which I want to keep and which I want to turn. My partner is looking for a 32-20 to go with a 73. Thought you had one when you were showing me your stuff. Then again my head was spinning from all your customs!!

RT- not sure. I bought them finished and had the lanyard added on the FT and changed a few things on the LW. Give John a call at 205-384-5229

Does John have a website? Or is there anywhere I could see some more of his work? I think this is exactly what the Doctor ordered.

ETA: What all is involved in a lightweight conversion?

The pistols look great, really like the wood grips. The wood has a unique pattern, is that a naturely occuring stripping? They bring back memory's of what my brother has had for as long as I can remember.

John doesnt have a website. Said he has been too busy to get one up. Easy guy to work with. You can reach him on the number I listed above (sometimes!!).

Not sure what the wood is. I have a some spalted maple being made for it. Should look good.

This is the next one heading to either John or Alan Harton. 58 FT blackhawk. Thinking either a 44 spl or 38-40. May trim an inch or eight from the barrel.

Gary,
That Flat Top looks a little too rough for a project gun. You might get in over your head. Better sell it to me and avoid the agony!
Merry Christmas.

Ive been to your house Mike. If I sent it to you it would get mixed in with all those old ragged Bowens and other custom revo's laying around and not get the proper attention it deserves. I may save the barrel off this one for a nightstick. Not sure of the reasoning behind a 12" 357.

wood is Curly Maple, if it were stained or treated with chromic trioxide the stripes would pop out way more... I handled that pistol, actually tried to buy it.... but John told me it was already sold... just didnt realize it was yours Gary!
