The title says it all
I'm in the que for a 4" HD Hamilton Bowen S&W .45 conversion. This will become a BBQ gun and not CCW...... So with that said I'll be in the market for a holster and belt of top quality. My delema is I realy don't want to wait a year for leather, 5-6 months would be ok I just don't want to miss a next shooting seasion

Well Gary I'm officially jealous... a .45 conversion on a S&W, I'm assuming a 38/44HD, has long been on my wish list. You better post pictures... and allot of them.

For wheel-gun range use I have long preferred the 200AW or PMK, both from Milt Sparks. I think the 200AW is classic and understated enough to work well with a Bowen conversion. Depending on clothing options either can be well suited for concealment if need be... but my preference for that role is still an IWB so don't forget to tack on a Summer Special to that order.

I have the 200AW with hammer shroud from Sparks and I love it! It has a tension adjustment and I have come off a horse twice on the side of a mountain with scars on saddle and holster, but the gun was not even slightly loose in the holster. Great protection and great draw no matter what the amount of tension. The only gripe I had with it is that if you have a sharply serrated ramp on front sight you can pull a little leather with it and it sticks in those serrations, but "no deal is perfect" I do wish they would send you the leather and allow you to have someone tool it and then send it back for the build. I wish mine matched the tooling on my saddle, but it is still a work of art

It's close to 4" from cylinder face to muzzle.

Several people have asked how the Bowen shoots.


This is after the gun came back from having Bowen adjust the elevation slightly (3" up at 75')

The group on the black bull is single action at 50' with forearms resting on bench. I used a 6 O'clock hold. The two shots above the group of 4 are my error. I lost focus on the front sight and when I do, I shoot high.

The group at the bottom was shot double action at a blank target (turned backwards) The group was centered in the target.

Just got the letter that baby will be coming my way soon....

Well, I recently got my Bowen revolvers back, one in 45 S&W, one in 45 Colt and one in 44 Special. They were built on a couple of Model 58s and a Model 520 respectively.

Those are a handsome batch of BCA's. I have a .45 Colt conversion on a 5" S&W Heavy Duty. It has the smoothest action of any S&W I own. Thanks for sharing a few pics.
