Many people have commented that Lou Alessi is the prince of the custom holster business, I just wanted to share my recent dealings with him that more than justify that accolade. I bought, actually my loving wife, bought me a Alessi made dual mag pouch from Heinie Specialty Products. It completed my outfit of 2 Milt Sparks IWB holsters, a Galco belt and the Alessi mag pouch. I was thrilled to get it as a gift from my wife as she thinks I spend a little (lot) too much money on gun stuff. Anyway, things didn't go quite as planned with the mag pouch. It sort of shredded the edging on my belt and was so tight that I ripped a belt loop off my pants trying to remove the pouch from the belt. I wasn't very happy and instead of emailing Heinie (they were closed for the weekend) I emailed Lou himself. After taking some measurements it was determined that my Galco belt was running .013 over standard thickness and this was causing my problem. So what is his solution, if I want to, send in my belt and mag pouch to him and he will refinish my belt and make a new mag pouch to fit my oversize belt. Is that going above and beyond the call of duty or what. I know one thing, whatever the wait my next leather good will be an Alessi. Thank you Lou!!!

Yup Louie’s the man... no doubt about it. 8)

Tell ya’ what if you really want to treat yourself and have your carry rig ‘sing’, buy one of Lou’s belts. There are probably none better available and you won’t be sorry, trust me.

I actually told Lou it appeared the solution to my minor problem was to buy one of his belts. His reply to that was he didn't want me to have to spend anymore money to fix the problem. I have already decided when I order a 1 1/4 belt to go with my 1 1/2 it will be from Lou.

Jason's on to something re: Lou's belts (let's stipulate that the same is already well established for his holsters, accessories and customer service).

After wearing my first Alessi belt for a while with my new PCH and mag or mag/light pouch, I not only ordered another PCH for my five inch guns, I also ordered two more of his belts in other colors and finishes, both tapered for wear with suits and sport coats.

Lou is, indeed, a prince of a guy, and one of the real gentlemen in the business.

One of the things that really impresses me is how Lou and Josh Bullman will yuck it up and step all over themselves to complement each others work, even though they are competators. Truly a class act to piont out the greatness of a competators work.

I have been dealing with Lou for several years now and can say I count him among my friends. And I can count them on both hands. This man is the consumate gentleman. You don't find men in business anymore that have "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" mentality and not just printed on a brochure or website. So far in my life the biggest compliment I can pay someone is when I say "You have Impressed me". I have said that approx. a dozen times so far. Lou Alessi was one of those times. Lou, thank you for putting up with all my craziness. This big Greek loves you!

I much as I hate to admit it, I live with a couple of Lou's rigs on a daily basis. My daily carry gun is a C&S Glock 26 in an ankle rig by Lou. I also have a couple of Heinie DOJ's for my full size carry guns. Can't get any better.

Josh just sent me a beautiful rig for a Hi Power. It will be featured in an upcoming Harris article.

A prince, I don't know. I always pictured princes as young!

All the Best,

Rob

Lou a Prince  ??? -- he's too old and wrinkled to be a Prince. Lou is a King! He is an elder statesman of fine leathersmithing, wise, skilled, and garners loyalty from his subjects (customers). All Hail King Lou!

Well hold on now! I gotta get this thread printed out so I can hang it over the work bench at the shop

Directly over the spot where my Father-in-law sits, so he can memorize it!

I'll print a second one for my wife and daughter too.. They need to be reminded once in a while...

Thanks a million guys! Those compliments mean a lot to me.
Lou

I personally think calling Lou a Prince of a guy and a Prince of the Leather world is just not enough. For all the years Lou has been working in his trade he has never accepted the fact that he has made the best he can and lay down on the job. He is constantly coming up with new designs and as the firearms become more ;lavish Lou always comes up with a rig to complement what ever is riding in it

God Bless you Lou and keep it up.

Gary

Well, Thank you Gary! That's one of the nicest things I've ever heard said about me.. Of course, you don't get to listen to the guys at the shop either

My first custom holster was a Watch Six Dual Talon made by Lou. Since then I've bought and sold lots of different holsters by different makers. When ever I decide to thin the herd a little and make room for something new, that holster never even gets considered for sale. It's still the most comfortable IWB I have. Lou sets the bar pretty high....
