I've got a Warrior on the way and I anticipate it using it as a home defense weapon and sometimes as a CCW. So, I'm looking at needing two holsters, one for concealed carry (light either unattached or attached) and the other as a quasi duty rig (an OWB which carries the weapon with light attached). Any recommendations? I figure it's relatively new enough that some manufacturers haven't geared up to produce holsters for it.

I offer any of my holsters for the Kimber TLE-RL/Warrior without a light attached. It's pretty tough to make a concealment holster for one with the light mounted. Any of the lights add so much bulk that the light bezel normally prints below the dust-cover/muzzle. The mouth of the holster around the trigger-guard also needs to be left as an open cylinder to allow the light to clear leather, and cannot be molded around the triggerguard as usual. I currently have a paddle holster in prototype form being field-tested that I hope will get around these problems. The dust-cover rail area/light is left exposed, eliminating the bulk of leather around the light. The holster will be molded to a specific pistol, but this will allow the same holster and pistol to be used with any variety of light.
This also eliminates the holster-maker's dilema on my part of having to tool up a pattern for the same gun with each of the different lights on the market. The holster will have to be a thumb-break version and will require a draw that pushes the gun out to the rear slightly and then up, but it is relatively fast.

P.S. - Since this is a proto-type it does not appear on my web-site, but you can e-mail me at garritysgunleather@cox.net for photos if interested.

There you go Buzz. An answer from one of the finest in the world.
Until you get the quality leather I think Bianchi makes a generic one in the Cobra line for a pistol with light attached. Not to well adapted for concealment but its a holster. Blade-Tech has one too, you have to call though. I am not a fan of plastic but its an alternative.
Good luck.

That's a lot to live up to, but I thank you very much, sir!

If Al says it, it must be true.

I'm going to go the synthetic route (better than saying plastic no?) on a temporary basis. I've got a class a week after Labor Day, and I thought I'd try the new HD weapon with and without the light to work it up and get used to it. Then, the plast . . . I mean, kydex holster can become the dedicated emergency rig holster, while a dead animal product will replace it as a concealment holster, minus the light.

Several of you have e-mailed me in response to this post for pics so I'll post one here. A Sig P220 with Surefire P-series Nitrolon tac-light. The holster is full coverage shark. The vertical "rib" on the side of the holster is a piece of kydex under the shark-skin for reinforcement. The thumb-breaks and paddle are also kydex reinforced.
Thanks for your interest.

Mr. Shear; thanks again!
Still a little tweeking to do with the design but it's getting there. Primarily, the thumb-break (actually middle-finger break) where the strap wraps around the trigger-guard needs to be extended outward a little more for easier access and more positive release. You can barely see it in the photo. Actually this may not be a bad thing from a firearms retention stand-point, but seeing there are two straps to release my "tester" felt it will make the draw smoother and make re-snapping in place easier.
