This went out to a customer this morning. My In-Cognito Deluxe IWB in full-coverage American Alligator, dark burgandy in color, for his Wilson Stealth. Holster features include (aside from the obvious exotic hide) a molded kydex reinforced mouthband hidden under the gator between it and the foundation leather, a buff-colored suede covering the rear holster body, a smooth leather lining, and a thin plastic membrane between the suede and rear foundation leather as a perspiration guard.
This took some work; Thought I'd share...

Besides it being gorgeous, that sure sounds like excellent design and engineering. I can't even imagine the labor involved to put it all together.

Mark,

That is too pretty to hide in a waistband. would prefer that OWB.

Another work of art to plan for - well, save for.

Thanks

OMG!! Finally a holster to go with my shoes!

The big question...can you make it in brown and white to match my Spectators? :D

All kidding aside, that is one beautiful rig, Mr. Garrity. Congratulations.

My wife hates me having guns. She thinks one is enough. She also said that was a very pretty holster. I appreciate getting to see just a picture of it. She likes it, so I am putting it on my wish list for her.

Mark - looks really nice -

How many holsters do you get out of a gator? I know that when I looked at getting a hide I damn near had a coronary when he told me the price!

Keep up the good work,

John

5Shot,
Yeah, it is pricey.
How many holsters depends on the size of the hide of course.
This particular hide was small, not much wider across the belly than the width of the holster, so this is the only holster I was able to make from it. There's just enough left to make a single mag pouch and use the the tail for belt billets for the same customer. A much larger hide would naturally yeild more holsters, but I actually prefer the smaller ones. The larger the hide the larger the scales, and I like the look of the smaller scales on the small hides. Adds more texture and character IMO.

TonyT,
I'll shoot you an e-mail. (You must like your other In-Cognito).

Mark: Not much into exotics but I think that Aligator holster is the prettiest holster I've ever seen.

This is from the guy who was called the Imelda Marcos of holster consumers by his fellow officers.

"Imelda Marcos of holsters" - I like that!
The wife of the customer that purchased this liked the color and finish so much she asked if I made shoes...

Mark,

There used to be a cobbler on 7th Ave, north of Indian School who made my dad a pair of shoes. This was in the 70s. My dad about died when he saw the bill, $300. He still wears the shoes today. Like holster makers, few true artists still exist.
