I'm thinking about picking up a Del Fatti shoulder holster for my Glock 22 for off duty carry. I was wondering if anyone has any experience wearing these. I've heard that most shoulder holsters are loose and flop around a lot. I need something a little more secure than that. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

While I dont have a Del Fatti shoulder holster I do have two of his holsters, a mag carrier and a cuff carrier and will say hands down his stuff is great. While I'm not sure about it but I think the term pick a Del Fatti holster up is wrong. His wait is usally right at a year and it is a agonizing wait but well worth it. I would reccomend a IWB holster for off duty, shoulder rigs require too much for concealment IMHO.

I carried a 229 in a Delfatti rig for two years every day when I was a narc for a local PD. it is by far the nicest rig I have ever owned and I have always carried in a should rig.

Having said that, all shoulderrigs will flop around if you exert yourself and don't use the tie downs.

i never found them to be any harder to conceal then any other method but this depends alot on your body type.

I am 5"10" 170 and had no problem concealing my 226 under a lose shirt.

I would also recomend Mark Garrity and Andrews custom leather - both make first rate rigs.

hope that helps.

I don't post here much, but I happen to have three of Matt's shoulder rigs, not to mention innumerable other custom gun carriers from Matt, and can recommend his work with enthusiasm.

I'm about the same dimensions as rccolt, and, find that Matt's work (which is truly custom, if you'll only ask specifically for what you want) to be top notch. If you need it for sake of better concealment, he can make your shoulder rig's "horizontal" holster actually angle upward from butt to muzzle, thereby reducing the fore-aft dimension and making "printing" of the butt or muzzle through your cover garment less likely, yet without sacrificing access. He can also come up with novel methods of retaining your gun within the holster other than the despised thumb-break. Email or call him with your specific needs, and he'll tell you what he thinks and what will work. He's really a very accomodating guy, and I'm sure you'll be happy with the results he provides.

Thanks for the input guys. The reason I used the term "pick up" was because Lightning Arms has one in stock that fits my duty gun. (Maybe I should have kept that to myself!) I'm a pretty small guy, about 5' 7" and 160 lbs. I'll be using it for off duty carry. I've also got an Alessi PCH which I use to haul my commander in. Thanks a lot for the input. If funding allows, I will order the holster and write a review. Appreciate it guys!
