I am looking for a "driving holster" . Galco made one years ago but I do not think that they still produce one. I want one that is a cross draw with an easily snapped on or off design. Does anyone know of a holster maker offering something like this?

What style of holster was it - Scabbard, Pancake, etc.? IWB or OWB? I think you should be able to find one from any of the makers who frequent this board.

The one I saw years ago was an outside the waistband that had a snap that went under the belt on the weak side and held the pistol horizonal to the ground not traditional cross draw. It was designed to be used in the car only and removed upon exiting the car.

Is this the kind of holster you are thinking about, this one snaps in the back.

Sparks made one some years back. It had a strap that was stitched to the holster body as a continuation of the collar I think. This strap was slid down around the belt and then looped back up on the face of the holster body and was snapped down. I don't know if they offer that design anymore but you could check with Tony Kanaley to find out.

Also Ken Null builds one for revolvers called the VAM.
