Every holster maker is trying to come up with some new style that will set the leather world on its ear! But very few actually come up with something truly new and different. Well, this is not one of them. This was a dart throw that worked out fairly well.

I want opinions on this style of IWB. I believe I may have seen things similar to it over the years but cant say that its a copy of "this guys brand x". If you guys know of anyones IWB that this is close to...please tell me. Del Fatti has his ISP4 that is close...but has many differences at the same time.

Image

Its a combination of my Pro (summer special style IWB) and my Com 3 (Offset loop IWB). It seems to have all of the plus's of both designs and none of the negatives with either. Its an offset loop design so its thin and stable yet has the benefit of a real banded mouth for one handed reholstering.

Image

It keeps the gun extremely close to the body and yet is very very comfy when seated, driving and walking around.

I just want to know your opinion on this one........honestly, on a personal basis..Its my favorite IWB for me. The pics are of me carrying a CZ SP01...a very large 9mm. 20 rnds of capacity and a full railed gun. Weighs in at around 54 oz's fully loaded and honestly feels 1/2 of that in this holster.

Shoot well and god bless.

Thanks for all of the feedback..... I always need all of the help I can possibly get! Eric

Close to Nossar's VALOVAK and the 2 I had John at 5Shot do for me(precursors to his Burton IWB), but the loop shifting farther forward looks like it would cut down on some 'bulk' on the side.
It does look good and is probably very comfortable.
Might be ringin' your doorbell shortly.

It looks very good Eric. My only queston is what disadvantages do the other holsters have that this one does not?

Well of course I have to preface my answer that all holsters have advantages and disadvantages for each person. They are very much like your defensive gun of choice...its a very personal and situational thing.

For me..the advantages of the SS style holster as its lines...the shape is a classic, its got a reinforced "banded mouth" that is very very strong for one handed reholstering.

The advantages of the Com 3 or offset dual loop IWB style are its stability, its very thin and very very comfortable.

IMO...IN MY OPINION...over the years Ive made a couple of each of these and also from the feedback I get from my clientel. The Disadvantages of BOTH styles are this...

The Summer Special style IWB...the loops are close enough together that it lacks stability, letting the holster rock and change its cant. Also since the loops are directly over the gun, it adds bulk to the overall thickness and can create alot of pressure for some body types who carry thicker guns. ***To add fuel to the fire...some people who get this holster "moving around" on them, will try and fix the problem by tightening the belt more and thus causing that much more pressure.

The disadvantages of the Com 3 style are you cant really reinforce the mouth of the holster to the point that some people want it. I can add a reinforced front panel and it does help but not near as much as "banding the mouth" does. Its just a weakness in the design itself. Also some people who dont take the lack of thickness into account will look at the design and say ...man that thing is huge!

So its got the banded mouth of the SS style and its more compact design, with the stability of the offset loops design and about 95% of the comfort as the Com 3.....thats all.

So there you have it......Shoot well and god bless

Thanks Eric - that makes perfect sense - thanks for the education.

Also let me know if you want me to test and evaluate it for you. Just make me one for a Commander and were in buisness

Well put, Eric. What is perfect for one person may not work at all for another. And sometimes all it takes is a very subtle design change to alter that fact.
Very nice holster, I like it.

Regards, Rick

Looks great to me Eric. I'd be honored to give you a prefessional holster junkie opinion. Glad to see you back here. Give a call if you have some spare time, long time no talk.

I think it makes great sense and looks great too!

You are wearing it where I always thought an IWB should sit, and I like the fact that it pulls in the butt of the gun. I am sure that all of us 1911 wearin' fools would appreciate that fact.

I use "fools" in the best sense of the word, i.e. I am a fool for a nice 1911 and would have as amny as my heart desired if money was no object. (I should be so lucky...)

I did just see a very similar design recently, but I can't remember where. The holster I saw also used the front strap on the "top of the slide" as it were...

I will see if I can find it.

Either way, I like and I want one! I am such a gear wh*re... :D

Eric this holster was invented by "ME" in my head for the last year. You have read my mind and made my dream holster. Thank you! Do you have ESP? I carry in a VM II right now and love it except that when I reach into my front pocket for my wallet the "forward leather loop" which sits in "front" of my pants belt loop is exposed on my belt giving me away to the trained eye. I have never had anyone notice, but was a bit paranoid for the first year wearing the VM II that some jumpy cashier would spot it as I reached for my wallet and draw down on me. I'm having a build soon and will be talking to you when we decide which 1911 will be my base gun. Well done!

Looks kind of like this. (Not to take away from your design or the good idea.)

Pretty close...Nossar is a Master Craftsman! He does amazing work.

The holster is very close but I wanted to move the front loop away from the body of the gun to reduce the thickness of the holster and the rear loop is closer to the trigger guard...I think it pulls the butt of the gun in tighter to the body on some occasions.
Ive found about a dozen holsters similar to the OS Pro and all have great designs.

Thanks for the input.....
Shoot well and god bless
