I'm really interested in these holsters and I'd like to know if anyone has used both and what differences they found between the two? I figured there'd be no better place to ask :D Thank you.

I have not (yet) tried Alex's stingray, but the Valovak is my favorite IWB. I have tried many high-end IWB holsters and none of them fit me as well as the Valovak does. My business partner is retired from the NYPD and has been carrying for 20+ years. I bought him a Valovak for his birthday and he can't get over how comfortable it is. He likes to rib me about my "overly expensive taste" and thought that I buy Alex's holsters because they are so pretty. Now all he wants to know is when I'm making my next order!

When in doubt, try one of each!

I'll second that thought on the Valovak. Probably the most comfortable and most used holster I own. Alex does awesome work. Haven't tried a Stingray (yet).

Well I hate to be an echo, but I have two Valovak holsters from Alex and another that will ship after SHOT 09. I too have found the valovak to be my favorite of all the IWB holsters I have tried thus far. However, like the others I have not tried the stingray yet.

I honestly do not see how you could go wrong with either choice.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to give me your input. I love the Del Fatti but am still interested in checking out other holster makers designs. Merry Christmas everyone!!! :D

I have two Stingrays, three Valvoaks and three IWB3's for 1911s, HK P7 and a few other guns. I can't really pick a favorite as I like all three. The Stingray is very similar to a Sparks VMII with the wider spaced loops and is a great all purpose IWB rig. On the Valvoak the loops are a little closer together and it has more of a flange which really helps if you have a bad back as it spreads the weight of the gun out. Personally I prefer his IWB3 with the single loop. Alex makes them so well and so thin that they are all extremely comfortable. I would say it just comes down to a matter of personal preference as they all do the job and do it very well. If I had to pick a favorite I'd say the Valvoak for a smaller gun or Commander and either the IWB3 or Stingray for larger guns like the Govt model. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!
