I've built alot of them over the years. They make a great hard use rig and present the smooth side to the pistol/revolver. The first complete rough out rig I built was for a WI DNR Warden back in the early '80's. It stood up a lot better to trippin' though the brush. Besides, it looks nice with the texture variation of smooth leather trim. Oh yeah......and they're "Tactically Subdued" :lol:

Thanks Matt! Compliments like that, coming from you, sure do make my day :D

Lawman - I offer the roughout at no charge, assuming there isn't any more work in it for me. The mag pouch was more, due to the extra trim work, but the holster was standard price.

In addition to what Matt mentioned, the rought out rigs seam to hold the detail boning better - you can see how crisp the lines on that holster are.
