Friday I had an unannounced visit from the FedEx guy.
But it is OK; he was bringing a lovely package of goodies.
Some leather I had ordered directly from Lou, well before he went into hospital the last time, was finally here.
The work obviously had been recently performed, and the right hand strong side PSS and remarkably comfortable PCH (IWB) for my full sized, John Harrison worked, 1911 Government (.45acp) and an accompanying double mag holder.
It IS superb.
Fit and finish is outstanding and although no one likes waiting, it was well worth it. A dab of Leather Lightning and the draw became consistently clean and smooth. Presentation was without fault and the only thing different from my earliest draw/shoot skills was the too rapid passing of forty nine years or so. By the way; THAT sucks!
However, gazing at the lawn from the top down IS a lot better that seeing it from the bottom up.

Lou had presented high quality leather for me from newbie thru Lt.Col.
Somewhere he is proudly grinning at his legacy of skill and quality. He has reason to smile.

I received two CQC/S's about a month ago for a 1911 w/rail and a Commander. Both are cordovan and the quality is first rate. At the same time I had ordered two Hideout IWBs, one for a full size M&P 45 and the other for a HK P7 unfortunately the one they sent was for a Walther P99. I know they were having issues with the one for the P7 and hopefully I'll have both of them fairly soon. All in all I was impressed with the work. Good to see that the Alessi legacy is still running strong.

I recently received some new Alessi CQC/s holsters. and a bodyguard holster. Quality is just like the new ones.

I didn't like the new design for the double magazine pouches. Lou used to use 2 separate snap loops so you can position it with a belt loop in the middle. The new ones have a single tunnel the width of the pouch and won't fit on my pants as it can't accommodate belt loops.
