Greetings,
I just acquired one of Ted's full-house Hi-Powers (Thanks Robert921 :D ), and I'm looking for a "Range" holster. I need a holster that will withstand the rigors of a class at Gunsite or Thunder Ranch, as well as simply hold my pistol while I'm plinking at my local range. I understand that fine holsters take time, but I'd REALLY like to have one as soon as possible.

Any suggestions?

Do you plan to have this as JUST a range holster? If training at the lieks of TR or Gunsite, I am assuming your be training as if carrying concealed? If so, you'd want your range holster to be a carry holster so as to ingrain the repetative action into your sould so it is second nature in a life threatening situation. I carry my HiPower in a Brommeland Chetah...it's very comparable to an Alessi talon clip (which I use for my 1911). Good luck with whatever you decide. Brommeland, Alessi, Milt Sparks are all good IMO and I speak from experience with all these makes. Others out there are no doubt good as well (my next will likely be a Bulman speed scabard).

With all those words, my only point it to train with what you'd be using for carry. Good luck with the decision and you need to post some pics of your YoBoHP

The types of holsters that will stand up to the tests of Gunsite are those made by high quality makers such as Lou Alessi (DOJ and ACP), Milt Sparks (1AT, 55BN and Idaho Quick Mount), Bulman Gunleather (FDS), DelFatti (ComTac), Rusty Sherrick (Rangemaster). The wait maybe 10-12 weeks, so you need to prepare to order way in advance before any anticipated class.
