Hey now... that set up looks awful familiar. Lou’s gear is top shelf and that combo mag/flashlight is without a doubt the best I have ever used.

Nice lookin' stuff, Mark. Believe me, the more you wear it, the less you'll know it.

Mr. Lou definately knows how to sew hide. Absolutely # 1 as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers, Tim

Mr. Downing-

Would you advise, please, what light that is in the pouch? I have a Surefire L4, which fits in a 6p pouch. I am about to ask Lou to build a mag/light pouch for me for the L4, so I'm hoping to be able to give him good info on what I need.

Thank you.

Hi Chip,

It looks like an E2e.

I also carry an L4 daily.

The L4 or E2e are very hard on leather as the knurling is almost like a wood rasp. They will absolutely destroy any design where the body has to pass over a thread.

Matt Delfatti made me a carrier which is a pancake style that works very well and has held up to the L4. However, it does take a little more space on the belt than Lou's carrier (which I also have for the 1911 and 6P). I can state that Matt's has extremely comfortable.

I'll post a photo of it later.

Ray

Geez Lou, I think you should send a bunch of your holsters to Mark for photos. Before you know it, you could finish your web site with them

BTW Nice gear Lou and nice photos Mark!

Matt, You got a good point. In fact, that's what I was doing today. Taking pictures. What a pain in the ass!
I feel guilty when I don't get any holster work done, and I'm getting behind on belts again. I need to hire a couple of elves :P :P

I've got a CQC/S for my HK P7M8, and love it. That's a pretty hard gun to holster due to the grip-heaviness caused by the short slide. It's hard to make one that doesn't "flop out" at the top, away from the body.
Yet he did it, it's solid as a rock. The fact that it has the snap-on loops can't make things any easier either.

It's a holster miracle.

"It's a holster Miracle" Damn that's funny! I may have to use that quote on the web site if you don't mind :D
Thanks Barry

Hey Lou,

Those pictures you were taking, would they be of my "finished" holster?
After seeing these pictures I keep finding myself at the door looking for the UPS man, or calling home every 20-25 minutes asking if anything has been dropped off.

A co-worker of mine recently received one of Lou's IWB holsters. He likes it so much he wears it (minus the gun, can't carry at work)showing it to people. He said that he never knew a holster could be this nice.
I will get some pictures of it to post.

Lou,

The UPS/Fed-Ex and Postman are a little suspect of me anyway....I have everything that is donated to the Indiana Regional IDPA match sent to my home address.....I'm sure I am on some watch list somewhere!?!?!?

Mr. Alessi-
Feel free.

I, like many "gun-toters", have cut up some nice pieces of hide trying to cobble my own holsters together. No dreams of being the next master holster maker involved- OK, a little. I usually make one because I want an odd rake, or I need one for some oddball gun. An AutoMag, for example.
Point being, I really do appreciate the planning skill invoved in a good holster. That's in addition to the skill in workmanship. I have, and have seen, many of your products, and they each exhibit both of those qualities by the bucketfull.
With only three or four truly good holstersmiths out there to take care of everyone, no wonder you guys are so far behind. I don't know how you get made what you do.
But I'm glad you do.

Thanks a million Barry. It's nice to know that people notice those little things that go into holster design.
