I have started looking at custom leather since joining this site (I have seen some beautiful stuff). I am looking for a nice rig for a government sized 1911. I need your experienced input/advice as to where to start. I want a belt, holster and mag pouch, probably in some type of exotic leather. I have not had much experience with inside the pants holsters. Any suggestions?

well, exotics are really really $$$ i mean, im not $$ shy by any means and its too expensive for my blood. basically you could have at least 2 holsters for the price of one exotic.
if its iwb you could get just the loops in exotic to match the belt which saves a little bit of money. most of the makers do not recomend exotic on the whole holster for iwb, since it adds thickness.

their are to "main" loop designs. ones that are spread out away from the gun, and ones that are directly above the gun.

with a govt, model you will want a holster wtih a considerable amount of cant to hide the butt from sticking out so far.(or atleast most people do)
