I'm not one that gets overly excited about dead cow parts - OK, maybe just a little if they are right off the grill and just beginning to reach that perfect state of medium-rare or when they are wrapped around a few of my 'favorite things'......

Well, I received my long awaited PCH from Lou Alessi earelier this week and to say I'm pleased just doesn't begin to scratch the surface. It really is quite an innovation in IWB holsters.

The first thing that struck me was just how stout the little holster was. It's thin mind you because it doesn't have an internal metal mouth support, but it's just plain stout all the same - built like a tank with stitching that must have come from a sewing machine the size of a metal break press. I've worn it now for 3 days and try as I might, I can't get the mouth to close. Lou assures me that it never will, which is a great thing. I'm not sure what 'weight' leather it is made out of but it's got more substance to it than most of my other holsters even though the overall stackup is thin. Like I say - it's stout...and I like that.

Wearing the PCH is really nice. I ordered this holster to replace my tired old Watch 6 and the thinness is very comparable. What's really nice about the PCH is that it has such a low 'width' profile on the belt increasing the ease in locating it just where you want. And if 'where you want' just happens to be at a belt loop - no worries, the belt snap design is split so you can straddle the loop on your pants.

It has an absolutely perfect fit to my old Commander's lines, securing it solidly in place with an almost mechanical, crisp snap when inserted. Even my 4" Wilson fits nicely and is retained just as surely as the 4.25" Commander is.

And...it's just looks very business like. A real testament to the craftmanship that went into it. Almost a shame to hide it inside your pants.

And, for those of you who have never ordered from Lou, he is amazingly approachable, actually answers the phone himself even, is as patient as Job and a real pleasure to do business with!

My Commander has found a new home.

I'm in the process of trying to beat, misuse, and abuse a PCH to oblivion and I could write a book about what I've done to try to get the mouth to collapse, still no luck. Lou has a real winner with one, no doubt about it.

Lou's PCH has definitely set a new benchmark for IWB holsters. But the, what did you expect from 'Da Man'.

Lou made me a PCH to wrap around my Commander. I am not really what you would call a small fry. 5' 10" and 235lbs. and this build does not lend for IWB carry in most cases.

Then came Lou and his PCH and my world has changed. It is all I carry now even just around the house and it's great.

The Commander draws smooth as silk and replacing the weapon in the holster is just as smooth.

Thanks guys! So far, so good with all the users of that holster. We just sent 50 of them to Afghanistan, and I'll have some feed back in a month or so.

Mine is still somewhere in Uncle Lou's work pile. The (understandable) wait is killing me!

it is currently my only holster for ccw carry and i must say i am so pleased with it! I also have another holster and belt on the way and am already plotting another hoslter and belt system thanks for the great product lou.

Thanks for photographing the back side of the holster, so often that shot is overlooked. That area is a very important part for me as that is where the comfort zone is.

I have a PCH for my SIG 239. Most comfortable holster I own -- next to the APX for my Kahr E9. Well, actually the Alessi MOB for my Star PD is just as comfortable, except that my aging, stiffening joints protest a tad when I reach back to draw. All in all, I've found Lou's products to be the epitomy of perfection. And dealing with Lou is the frosting on the cake. The guy's a world-class gent.

I have two PCH holsters. One for a Commander and one for a 5" gun. Over the past month I have put in at least a hundred hours in of surveillance in plain clothes. Walking, driving, running, etc...Like Burton I have tried to figure out a way to call Lou and tell him the shortcomings of his holster. This is not the first hundred hours I have worn a PCH. There are alot more hours logged. This coming from a person who in the past did not like IWB hoslters.

I have to agree with C.T. this holster set a benchmark in IWB holsters. I guess function starts to creep in when you do something as well as Lou for 30+ years. Thanks Lou.
