I just ordered the COM3 by Eric Larsen from Top Gun supply the other day for my 5" 1911 and I was just wondering what you guys thought of it compaired to the Sparks VM2 or Gary Brommeland MAX - CON V. I know Gary has a service grade now and I was wondering also how that is compaired with his presentation grade. This will be my first IWB and I think that I really will like it from what I have read. Thanks guys.

Hi, I looked that up, it is just like my Garrity incognito. I made a comment on this topic the other day that I travel and wear mine on 550 mile trips from Florida to Georgia and never notice that I have it on. I am 5' 10" and 165#s. It is quite comfortable and I forget that I am packing. I use a double thick belt also, very importaint. My old belt was very soft and plyable, but my new one is much firmer and makes for much more comfort to carry.

I have found that the beltman makes a great belt, and you are right, it makes all the difference in the world. I also really want to try the Rafter S belts out. They are very reasonable on the prices.

Eric does nice work; you won't be disappointed.

I don't have any HBE leather yet, but I live in Utah and have seen his work firsthand. You wont be dissapointed. I'd recommend ordering a belt from Eric if you can. I like to have a belt made by the same guy who built my holster, hard to go wrong that way.

I will definately be looking for a belt and mag pouch to match if I like the holster. From what I read I will not be dissapointed. I also have a Gary Brommeland Max-ConV service grade that I just love. You can't beat the price and the quick order time for this holster. 2-3 weeks wait is hard to pass up.

I just got the HBE COM3 today and it is a really great holster. Just a little break in required and it is ready to go. It has that great "snap" sound when you insert the gun and the boneing is excellent. It is also probably the most comfortable IWB that I have worn. I have been wearing it for about four hours now and I almost forgot it was there. I would highly reccoment Eric Larsen and HBE leatherworks.

That's good to hear. Eric's a good guy and lives close to me. It was cool to actually get to go and see his shop. He's moved now, but I still think he's close.

I have a Brommeland Max Con V for 1911s, a Sparks VMII for 1911s and Eric made a holster for me for my Hi Powers and one for my CZ P-01. They are every bit as nice, comfortable and high quality as the others. And a bit less money in some cases. It did take some time to get the HP and CA holsters as this was right around the time he was moving, but very much worth the wait and really nice stuff. I will go back to Gary at Brommeland and Eric again. I have a hard time on spending extra money for really fancy IWB holsters with a bunch of trim and eye candy. I like mine very plain and functional, and Eric's Com 3 fits the bill to a T.

I agree with Jess. I have all 3 now and the Com 3 is just as well made.
