I know the 60TK rides a little higher than the 55BN. Does anyone know just how much higher it raises the 1911? Thanks!

I compared both of mine and I'm going to say just by eyeballing them that it's maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch.

Thanks. My 55BN which I love just sneaks out from cover occassionally an inch or 2 at the bottom, but is definitely close to the limits of height for my ability to comfortably draw. I think I will start looking for a 60 TK and take the $100 plus dollar risk.

If a high rise is a must take a look at Mark Garrity's SteadFast

Thanks for all the info and the Garrity tip!

Do you find any ADVANTAGE to the extra front tab of slotted leather of the 60 TK and the Steadfast when compared to the 55BN's rear tunnel? My 55BN does not rotate/rock on my belt at all and I don't have that extra piece of leather in front of the 3 o'clock belt loop. Just wondered what advantage the front slot could have over the properly done rear tunnel?

I don't notice a real advantage over the other design but I believe that is a true "pancake design". Either way they are secure. Personal choice I suppose.

I have both of the above mentioned holsters from Sparks. Here's a pic of them on a belt so you can see the difference for yourself. As far as the belt slots go, I think the pancacke design holds the gun a little tighter to your body than the slot/loop design, but like John said, it's probably more personal preference than anything. Left to right is the Alessi CQC-S, Sparks 55 BN, and the Sparks 60 TK. One thing I've noticed is that the higher the holster rides, the more the pistol butt prints when you bend over.
