I am thinking about ordering a holster for my 4 inch S&W 686+ (seven shot) and am wondering since the flutes on the cylinder are different (the spacing..... there are more flutes) do you use a 686+ "dummy" gun to bone it to ? I would think that if you tried puting a 686+ in a holster finely boned for a regular 6 shot 686 it wouldn't fit correctly ???

Thanks,
fz

I haven't had any holster requests for 7-shot revolvers and haven't made a comaprison, but aside from the flutes being located differently I would imagine the cylinder itself is larger in diameter and overall circumference on the 7-shot verison.
