Well folks, the nice summer weather has arrived in Colorado. Although I did manage to hide a USP-C .45 in my Milt Sparks VMII all last summer, it wasn't an easy task in lighter, fitted button-ups, t-shirts, etc. I'm ashamed to admit this, but I broke down and bought a Glock 26 last weekend, and now I'm in a pinch to find a good holster that doesn't require a 6 month wait. What are my options? It's starting to look like I may be limited to Kydex, but I haven't given up hope yet...

TIA.

Try: www. lightningarms.com

They try to keep top name holsters in stock. They charge a little more, but beats waiting 6 months or more. Really nice people to deal with.

John

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I just called and they're out of stock on everything IWB for the G26.

Ebay Item # 270229670609. This guy makes a good quality leather holster. Not Bulman, Sparks, or Null, but good nevertheless. One week delivery time.

Take a look.

HTH,
John

I've been told that Ken Null quite frequently has very abbreviated lead times. He may be worth a look, his work is certainly well respected... http://www.klnullholsters.com/

Just my $.02 worth as far as Mr. Null goes...I have ordered several of his rigs over the years and must say that he is no nonsense and a pleasure to deal with and makes some excellent products. I can understand why so many of the "ones in harms way" used him years ago, and continue to do so today. I have gotten some of his holsters in as little as a week and a half (about 2 years ago, my last purchase from him). I would NOT hesitate to use him again!
Two other places you might check that have excellent turn around times are Andy Arratoonian at Horseshoe Leather in England and Nate with UBG Holsters. I own one of Andy's shoulder rigs and it only took about a month from order to receipt and his workmanship is known worldwide and very well executed. He is very knowledgeable and a true English Gentleman to work with. I have not had the opportunity to order one of Nate's holsters yet, but have talked to him several times and found him to also be very good to deal with. I also like the fact that he is a veteran, and would definately do business with him in order to help put money in a vet's pocket and business! There is a good write up and pics elsewhere in this thread titled "UBG Canute" or something similar if you want some good pics and info on him. Here are their links:

If you're not too hung up on a custom rig, on several of my trips to iraq I carried a 26 in an IWB small leather holster from Galco. Never had an issue. Carried 24/7 the entire time in-theater and never had any security, looseness or ill-fitting issues.

While I love Sparks, Josh Bulman, Uncle Lou, and Matt and others, if time is a real factor, Galco's version of the Summer Special is really pretty good. Depending on your druthers, you may also look at COM kydex. They are good folks to do business with.

I suspect the Galco would work just fine and tends to be stocked by most decent sized retailers. FWIW Brownells typically carries the SS II as an in stock item for the g17/19/26 sized holsters. They happen to be out of stock on the 26 Having said that, many a 1911 lover has carried a commander length gun in a 5 inch holster out a) need and b) comfort as the extra bit of leather can help pull the gun in a bit increasing comfort and concealment. YMMV.

if kydex is your cup of tea, take a look at grandfather oak. He uses a very thin kydex and a blade tech style rubber loop for his glock IWBs. Wait time was less than 3 weeks. Cost was less than 40.00 shipped.

Lou Alessi's Hard Shell Talon will work and it will not break the bank. The pistol on the right is my Glock 27. Regards, Richard :D
