I have been a fan of fine leather for years. Matter of fact I bought my first custom rig from Matt in 1993 for a sig 229 I was carrying at the time. Since then I have owned rigs by Matt. Delfatti, Sparks and Allessi all have been very good holsters indeed. A few years ago I started to notice Eric Larson at HBE leather was making some good stuff as well. Just about the time I thought I would place an order he started to get some bad PR. I will say no more than that.
So two weeks ago I was surfing the net and went to his sight and saw an already made IWB for my Commander. It was a good price so I said what the heck. I ordered it and ask him to make me a mag pouch to match.

First thing I noticed was he emailed me back via a blackberry. We made the deal and he made me a mag pouch to go with it and I had it within 2 weeks. The service was great and the product his even better.

As to the holster it rides high with just the right amount of draw resitance. It conceals well and feel comfortable. The mag pouch also works well and have been wearing both every day for a week. They are quality leather.

I have no complaints what so ever and can with out reservation recommend him. Give him a look see and don't believe all the web hype - Eric is back and better then ever.

You don't see is stuff much here but maybe someone should invite him to join our little group.

Anyway on to the pics.

Eric went thru a very bad period in his life not too long ago and I'm glad to see that he's still making some great leather and from what I hear his current lead time are pretty good. Nice rig!!

Rob...that's a nice setup you got there, glad to see a buddy stumble on a good deal once in awhile!! What few pieces of Erics work I have seen in person have always impressed me too.--John

I've had the pleasure of meeting Eric, since I live about 10 minutes from him. He's made several rigs for me and I can say from personal experience he's a true gentleman. I've watched his holsters improve throughout the years and can say I feel fortunate to know him. He makes great gear and I'm glad he made it through the dark times. His gear looks better and better every time I check his site. He's a member here, just doesn't post much. Probably too busy working...
