For about a year off and on I have been talking with Mark Garrity about having hin make a version of the no longer made Milt Sparks Idaho Quick Mount or IQM, one of my favorite OWB rigs. We went back and forth on what the new rig should or shouldn't have and pretty much stayed with the basic Sparks design which had a low cut ejection port and dual snaps on each side of the holster for both security and stability. At first Mark was going to go with single snaps but I told him that the dual design with the angled cut as shown just gives the rig a bit of "class". Anyway, the discussions went on for a few months and I want to make sure that I give Mark credit for this he contacted both Tony at Milt Sparks to get his blessing and Matt Del Fatti to get his approval to use the angled cut design on the snaps that he originated, something it would be nice to see a lot more makers do. Mark is going to call it the ""KQM or Kanaley Quick Mount" giving homage to Tony as the original designer. I just received this on Thursday and honestly have not had time to really wring it out but I love the way he blended the black and cordovan and gave it about a 20% cant. I'm headed to the range on Tues or Wed and will really test it out when running some drills. My M&P 45 is in the KQM and my Rock River Basic Carry in the IQM. Comments are definitely welcomed.

Been wearing it since April along with another he made me for a Walther P99 with a thumb break, excellent rig, very comfortable and conceals quite well. Mark is a great person to deal with and very easy to work with regarding "custom" details.

I always liked the minimalist design of the Idaho from Sparks. This one looks perfect.

IMO it is, I actually like it better than my IQM and I'm glad Mark decided to give it a shot after I bugged him about. The leather is much thinner (ala Nossar) and IMO much better quality in terms of construction. I also like the degree of cant that Mark gave it. Bottom line it it's a perfect all around range, competition, duty (with thumb break) and ccw rig.

Very nice looking rig.

Unsurprising that Mark would have the professional courtesty to ask Tony and Matt about the design/build, and equally unsurprising that both those gentlemen would be so gracious in their approvals.

You're right - the world (and the business) could use more such gentlemen.

I love Mark's holsters but I think its fair to say that delivery and communication are typical of many one-man shops....
