Awhile back I ordered a single blade Trapper from Ken Erickson. Well as the project progressed I decided that I would get the bolsters engraved. Fortunately I had experience with an engraver her in Texas and with a little artistic input from Ken and Robert Shade this is the finished product. Of course being from Texas it wouldn't a complete picture wtihout the engraved handcuffs.

That is a DANG good looking piece!! Super classy! (Sorry, to all the Tactical Commandos! ) How do you like the work?? Fit/finish, walk/talk? I'd love to see pics of the other side and the back strap. Nice engraving, too! You should be proud!

Who did the engraving on the cuffs? My father was a sergeant on the Corpus Christi PD, and I've been thinking about having his cuffs done.

The cuffs and knife were done by Bob Shade. He is in Granbury Texas. If you would like his contact info shoot me a pm and I will send it to you. His engraving is on par with most anyone, turn around is good and he is reasonable on his pricing.

Thats great! I've been looking for something like that as a saddle knife to go in my fully hand tooled saddle. Thats really great. Hookem Horns!

Got this one back in May , and it has been carried & used daily since.


The fit and finish is spot on , not to stiff to open , yet extremely secure when opened. The spine is flush in the closed , open and 1/2 stop position.
And man as good as it looks , it has performance to match , this sucker can cut !!

Specs,
ATS-34 blade and spring ( with half stop )
410 milled, relieved liners and bolsters
flat ground, as ground finish on blade
cut swedge
brown paper Micarta scales jigged

I have always wanted a custom slipjoint , I am very satisfied with my 1st Erickson , I plan to get at least 2 more as time allows.

The ordering process was as pleasing as using the knife , Ken asked me what I wanted. He let me have it made exactly as I wanted , all while listing all the options he offers. Nothing super fancy , just a no frills , solid , as close to purfection as the human hand and eye can achieve folder.
